Course Objectives This course aims to give students a basic understanding of different aspects of the design competitions (legal constraints, technical aspects, and etc.) and encourage them to participate in at least one national and one international competition during the course.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Student will be able to interpret the design competition briefs.
  • Student will be able to identify rules and concepts defined in the competition briefs that are critical to the design of the product.
  • Student will be able to demonstrate the design ideas with the given format of the competitions.
  • Student will be able to do time planning considering the deadline of the competitions.
  • Student will be able to relate the design of the product with the corporate identity and other products of the company that organize the competition.
Course Description This course covers the interpretation of the competition brief and the legal aspects of the competition, design presentation criteria, and to communicate the design idea according to the competition brief.
