‘Registered’ success

Izmir University of Econmics (IUE) Department of Industrial Design has added another success to its achievements by receiving full accreditation from the Industrial Design Accreditation Board (ENTAK) for a period of 5 years. IUE Department of Industrial Design, which is deemed flawless in many criteria ranging from its physical facilities to current educational practices, became the only department among private universities in Turkey to receive full accreditation. Expressing great pride in the University, IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu congratulated the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Prof. Dr. Ender Yazgan Bulgun, the Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Can Özcan, the academics, the department's students, and the University's administrative and technical staff.

INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED

ENTAK, aiming to enhance the quality of industrial design education nationwide through independent and objective evaluations, conducted detailed examinations on various aspects such as faculty, curriculum, management structure, educational infrastructure, and physical facilities. IUE Department of Industrial Design, which has been a member of the World Design Organization (WDO) since 2005 and has brought hundreds of prominent young individuals into our country's forefront in the industry, has now solidified the quality of its education with its achievement of ‘accreditation’.

OUR DIPLOMA IS HIGHLY VALUED

Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Can Özcan stated that they will continue to work to prepare their students for the future in the best possible way, constantly renewing and improving themselves. Emphasizing once again the value of IUE diploma, Özcan said, “In our country, only 3 universities received full accreditation for a period of 5 years. While we stood out among these 3 universities, we became the only department to receive full accreditation among private universities. In our department, we educate young individuals who can develop solutions to design problems using different methods, have mastery over all stages of production processes, understand and interpret the social and environmental structures influencing design, and utilize computer-aided design and manufacturing technologies. For this purpose, we update our curriculum, follow technological innovations, and continuously improve our educational infrastructure and technological capabilities. All of these have brought us success and accreditation. I congratulate all the academics who have contributed greatly to this success and with whom I am pleased to work together. We dedicate this accreditation to our graduates and to the students who will graduate in the future.”
