Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality have joined forces to support the coastal cleanup movement initiated by Yaizu Chuo High School in Japan, which aims to break a Guinness World Record. 

Bade Ruşen Karadeniz, a student at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Industrial Design, has developed a special device called ‘Diren’ to be used in search-and-rescue operations after disasters.

Irmak Koluman, a student from Department of Industrial Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), has been awarded at the international design competition C-IDEA Design Award with her espresso machine named ‘Octopresso’, designed for coffee enthusiasts.

Izmir University of Econmics (IUE) Department of Industrial Design has added another success to its achievements by receiving full accreditation from the Industrial Design Accreditation Board (ENTAK) for a period of 5 years. 

İbrahim Burak Ünal, a student in the Department of Industrial Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) won second place with his earring design named ‘Varoluşun Şifresi’ (Code of Existence),using gold and sapphire, in the International Jewelry Design Competition. 

Invited by Shizuoka University of Art and Culture in Japan, 8 students from the Department of Industrial Design of Izmir University of Economics (IEU) traveled to Japan to develop business models with the aim of making the Izu Peninsula a ‘gastronomic center’. 

Onur Okutur (24), a graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Industrial Design, has designed a robot named ‘Maya’ that will protect the seniors' health and prevent them from feeling lonely. 

Dr. Elif Kocabıyık Savasta, Lecturer at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Industrial Design, and her husband Dr. Daniele Savasta bought and renovated the 150-year-old mansion in Kemeraltı and was awarded the ‘Respect for History’ award by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.

Alara Ertenü (21), student at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Department of Industrial Design, produced bio-packaging using artichoke leaves and pea pods. 

Three professors from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) were included in the “World's Most Influential Scientists List”, announced by a special research team led by Dr. John loannidis from Stanford University in the United States (USA).
